Le Møllegabet qui est une hypothèse d’arc très court (Estimé à environ :115 à 120 cm), qui comporte un fort rétrécissement brutal et étonnant.
Découvert en 1991 O. Grøn et J. Skaarup, il est daté à – 5 400 AVJC.
Ce serait un morceau d’arc d’enfant ou d’adolescent vu la longueur estimée.
Les branches proche de la poignée seraient plates (Flat Bow), puis après un épaulement, les branches deviennent étroites jusqu’aux extrémités (Long Bow). Si c’est un arc, c’est une technologie intéressante qui peut avoir certaines performances.
En archerie primitive beaucoup l’ont confondu avec les Holmegaards et ont tout mélangé en produisant des hybrides.
Beaucoup d’arcs inspirés du Møllegabet, pour une taille adulte ont été produits récemment, c’est une mode.
J’ai imaginé cet arc avec une poignée assimétrique et une longueur de 120 cm.
Je ne l’ai armé qu’à 23 » par prudence. Les rétrécissements des extrémités travaillent autant que le reste des branches.
