Un ami qui travaille dans une association en Grèce me demande d’organiser une manche la bas, ça me tente bien, qu’en pensez vous? qui serait près à se déplacer?

Its been a lot of time since our last talk.

Our Association is making it’s first own steps on organising and directing international traditional archery events in Greece. We have managed to make two main events within 2015 . One of them you can see here : http://koryvantes.blogspot.gr/2015/05/participation-in-total-field-game-2015.html

Our Association is also dealing with experimental archaeology researches and projects with international academic impact. In this concept we are really interested on working with organisations like yours.

So , following one discussion that we had some years ago i would kindly like to ask you if you would be interested on organising a prehistotir tournament in Greece within 2016.

We would be really interested on working on such possibility.

C’est bien tentant, mais va falloir bloquer assez vite des dates et réserver des vols pas trop cher (on peut transporter des sagaies en avion ?).

Transporter des sagaies par avion ! Mais bien sûr, en les coupant en 2 morceaux.
Les américains quand ils viennent nous voir font comme ça. Un manchon en peau crue, ou au tube
de River Cane renforcé de tendons pour rabouter et le tour est joué. Ou alors ils ont des potes dans
leur pays de destination qui leur fabrique des sagaies à leur poids et mesures.
En fait même 2 m c’est trop long… :blink:

Following the discussion we had in facebook about the possible « Prehistotir » Tournament in Greece for 2016 i would like to add some more information that could help you better on your Association’s internal discussions.

The place:
We have a prime cooperation with a really beautifull hotel/camp which is placed in the area of Euboia / Greece, named « Venus Beach Hotel » in the small coastal town of « Nea Styra ». The hotel is about 1 hour from the Athens International Airport. It is a really beautifull & quite place by the Aegean sea and actually not so touristically errosed. The Hotel also provides a beautifull camp in it’s the back side with natural enviroment in which the Tournament could take place.

What we offer:
Free Camping accomodation for every participant. Free access to the benefits of the Hotel. Free bus transportation from and to the Athens International Airport. Free tourist transportation and guidance to the local famous sights such as the prehistoric/mysterious structures called « Drakospita » ,or the local Medieval castle. We also have the support of the local Municipal authorities in any of our needs.

The Dates:
The best for us would be whithin the first 15 days of July. But please let us know what would be your preferences.

ils ont des supers pointes de flèches en silex au musée d’ Athènes, ainsi que des lames en obsidienne (-3000/-2300) contemporaines avec des armes en bronze.

Trop de la chance ton voyage……
Ces nucléus d’obsidienne débités à la pression : Fabuleux….
Au Portugal, à la même époque Chalco-Proto, …….
Les mêmes pointes, la même forme, le même silex…..
La communication à l’époque n’était pas soumise à la dictature…..
Au point de penser qu’il y avait une mode………
Je n’ai pas encore les photos….. mais j’ai gardé ça…… trop pareil …

faut avouer que c’est assez délirant de voir dans la même vitrine une épée en bronze et or avec des pointes de flèches en silex et des lames en obsidienne .
à Olympie -400 ans toutes les pointes sont en bronze.
on peut en déduire que le silex était plus courant que le bronze au début, et que les pointes en silex étaient encore suffisamment efficaces, ainsi que le tranchant des lames en obsidienne.
